On September 3, 2025, a grand ceremony commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War was held in Tiananmen Square.
The stirring melodies echoed, and the clatter of marching footsteps transported us back to those days of war. Overseas Chinese fought bravely in the global anti-fascist struggle, their contributions transcending national borders and weaving a tapestry of glory and suffering.
Remembering History, Paying Tribute To The Heroes
Watching the troops march in unison, we can’t help but recall those arduous and arduous years. Thirty-five million soldiers and civilians built the main battlefield in the East with their blood and flesh, and fourteen years of hardship and suffering brought the dawn of Victory Day on September 3rd.
The trembling salutes of veterans and the fluttering of the flags of honor and glory became a beacon of national memory. On the city wall, a veteran named Shi Baodong stood at attention and saluted, sweat dripping down his cheeks from beginning to end. In the parade, an old soldier repeatedly wiped the corners of his wet eyes with a handkerchief.
